Easy Vegan Salisbury Steak
I grew up eating certain comfort foods, and Salisbury Steak was one of them. I'm always looking for tasty meals that can be made quickly and easily. You'll be surprised at just how easy this is, and I'll link some of the ingredients you can order via Amazon.
Ingredients:
- Don Lee Farms Better Than Beef (I found these are CostCo)
- Simply Organic Vegetarian Brown Gravy Packets
- Trader Joe's Organic Rainbow Cauliflower (Frozen) (but you can use any other frozen veggies)
- Daiya Vegan Alfredo Cheeze Sauce
- Mushrooms
- Seasoned Salt & Pepper (to your liking), I also like to use some Unami seasoning to add a depth of savory flavor to most of my dishes
How To: Salisbury Steak & Veggies with Cheeze Sauce
1) I thawed four patties and placed them in between two sheets of wax paper and used a rolling pin to make thinner patties.
2) Chop one small to medium onion into dices and mushrooms.
3) Over Medium heat, in a medium pan, spray avocado oil or olive oil, then add onions and mushrooms to saute till cooked down a bit and onions start to get brown.
4) While the onions and mushrooms are cooking, in a separate pan, heat 1 cup of water till boiling and stir in contents of brown gravy packet till mixed together and thickened. Take off heat and add to the onion and mushroom saute. Pull off heat and set aside as you brown the "beef" patties.
5) Start to cook the frozen veggies till warm and cooked through while cooking the patties in a separate pan.
6) Once patties are brown on both sides, add prepared gravy on top and pull off heat to finish the veggie mixture.
7) In the pan where veggies have been cooking, add the vegan cheeze packet and fold into the veggies. Cook on medium as you mix and get all the cheeze sauce incorporated with the veggies.
8) That's it! Just plate up and serve! Add seasonings--salt, pepper, etc to your taste preference.
Bon Appetit!
